The Troy has been a proven ripper in the all-mountain category since its initial release in 2013, and for this third generation of the bike DeVinci redesigned the frame to increase stiffness and tire clearance, while slacking out the geometry for improved stability when things get rowdy. DeVinci is a new addition to our assortment of brands, but we're happy to welcome their race-bred heritage of burly full-suspension bikes that truly shine on demanding terrain.The new Troy has a full carbon frame including the rocker link, which was previously made of aluminum. This improves frame stiffness and responsiveness while helping to shed some weight. DeVinci improves stiffness even further by making the transition to Super Boost 12 x 157mm rear spacing. While some of us may be skeptical about yet another hub standard, 157mm hub spacing has been around on downhill bikes for a number of years. Super Boost simply widens the hub flange to improve the spoke bracing angle, which results in a much stiffer wheel that's better able to resist lateral flex while cornering and braking. In addition to the stiffness benefits, Super Boost allows DeVinci to keep the chainstays super short while still clearing a 27. 5 x 2. 8in tire and up to a 38t front chainring--pretty impressive numbers that give you a wide range of tread and gearing options. DeVinci also made the switch to a threaded bottom bracket, a huge plus in our book as it eliminates the creaking that often plagues press fit systems, and is easily removed and serviced by a home mechanic.
